#1 2015 - the start of something new

Dear my first readers,

To begin with... HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope 2015 is starting brilliantly and continues to do so (and if not I hope it gets significantly better very soon)!

A little about me... I am a 22 year old fresher in 'Geordie Land' Newcastle, my favourite city. It took me a few years of back and forth decisions, 1 uninteresting year doing a science (of all things) degree and a thrilling 8 month relocation to the other side of the world, to realise that the idea that I made when I was 16 to do Fashion, was the right choice. So I became a student (again) at Northumbria University to study Fashion Communication and loving it so much so far.

Right at this moment though I am finishing off my Christmas holidays at home in Yorkshire. Coffee in hand and chocolate temptingly close I am all set to write this blog's first post! The turntable is playing my favourite record, Born To Run (from the amazing man Bruce Springsteen), so I have been forced to work on the bed as record players and speakers take up top priority and ALL desk space. Yes, as it is to most people, music is very important to me. I should probably write a 'blog playlist'... it will likely be a lot of Bruce!

Have you made any resolutions this year? New Year resolutions aren't something I really do. The other night my best friend and I were talking about our "passions", or more lack of!  We are not a lazy pair, we always do the work that is needed... but that is sometimes just it. There are so many things I want to do whether it's a new hobby or develop a new skill, but it always just gets pushed back to the cupboard and forgotten about. So I thought New Year, new outlook! And this is the start.

Blogging is something I've wanted to do for a while now, I did actually start one but just stopped after a couple posts because I didn't think I had anything say. So now I am writing about 2015, the year I DO things. I will write about hobbies, skills and projects I develop. Maybe it will interest you to start something new too! I'm not saying I will love and carry on with everything,  I don't think I'll be very good at all of them either - but hopefully I will find a new passion, gain an amazing skill and enjoy it.

I want to be able to look back over this blog in 2016 and see a year of achievements, failures and results! Also I would love if you guys could get involved too - comment with your own interests, something you are an expert at or (like me) only just started. I would love to hear about them.

I will post my first new hobby soon so look out!

Love,
xxx
